Bayern Munich have signed defender Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus for $68.55 million.

"I felt the genuine appreciation from the sporting management, the coach and the board right from the start, which convinced me. On top of that, FC Bayern is a brilliantly run club with big aims. I'm very glad that I'm now becoming part of the FC Bayern story."

The Dutch defender moved to Juve from Ajax in 2019 and made 117 appearances for the Italian club.

Robert Lewandowski has joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich on a $51 million transfer.

Lewandowski credits Xavi for his decision.

“I was speaking with Xavi and from the beginning I know [what’s been on his] mind, his ideas. It was easy for me to decide to come to Barcelona because I’m the guy who wants to play, who wants to win, and I think that with Xavi it’s very possible.

“He knows exactly how to coach Barcelona because he was an amazing player and now he’s also a very good coach. He has an amazing future and I want to be a part of this as well.”

Chelsea has ruled out signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

Ronaldo is seeking a transfer from United as the club won't be in the Champions League next season.

Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, met with Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly, who has since discussed the proposal with head coach Thomas Tuchel.

An unnamed Saudi Arabian club has made a €30 million bid to United to sign Ronaldo while giving the Portugal captain the chance to become the world's highest-paid player by offering him €275 million in wages for the next two seasons.

Chelsea has signed Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in a £47.5 million transfer.

Sterling scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for City since signing from Liverpool for an initial £44 million in 2015.

"I've obviously achieved a lot in my career so far, but there is still so much more to achieve and I'm really looking forward to doing that in a Chelsea shirt, under [Thomas Tuchel's] management," Sterling told the club's website.

"London is my home and where it all started for me, and it's amazing I now have the opportunity to play in front of friends and family week in, week out at Stamford Bridge. I'm really looking forward to meeting the fans there soon.

"I do want to take the opportunity to thank Todd [Boehly], Behdad [Eghbali], the ownership group, Thomas, and all involved in the process of getting me here. I can't wait to get going now and continue to do my talking on the pitch."

Paul Pogba has rejoined Juventus on a free transfer, signing a four-year contract.

"I am back, I am here and I can't wait to get started," Pogba told the club's Twitter account."I am very, very happy. "I can't wait to get started and wear this Juventus jersey again."

Sources told ESPN in May that Pogba was keen on a return to Juventus after turning down interest from Premier League champions Manchester City.

Manchester United has signed Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord on a four-year contract with the option of a further year. 

The fee is an initial €15 million (£12.9 million) with up to another €2 million to follow in add-ons.

Malacia is a 22-year-old left back.

“It’s an incredible feeling to have joined Manchester United,” Malacia said. “This is a new chapter for me, a new league with new teammates and a tremendous manager leading us. I know from playing against his teams in the Eredivisie the qualities that he has and what he demands of his players.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has requested a transfer from Manchester United as he looks to play for a club in the Champions League next season.

ESPN understands that Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Napoli, among other clubs, are interested in adding Ronaldo.

Ronaldo returned to United last summer after more than a decade away playing for Real Madrid and Juventus.
